About the book

This illustrated book was found among the abandoned personal effects of a tragic young man and is presented with all its flaws and defects before it finally disintegrates.

Compiled more than fifty years ago, it leaves the identity and fate of its author unresolved while preserving the work’s singular visual world.

A found work

Compiled in the early 1970s, this work keeps its physical flaws and unanswered questions intact. Its title and images are presented as a record of an unknown author and an unresolved story.

Idiosynchronism – Pafos2017

According to the event listing, Idiosynchronism was founded in Pafos in 2005 and voluntarily disbanded in 2011, following its quinquennial. It attracted more than 60 adherents worldwide, including artists, theorists and art educators, and the source suggests it engendered later coincidental activities in London, New York and St Petersburg.

In June 2017, an installation and exhibition in the name of two conceptualised individuals was hosted by Nic Costa, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, in the back streets of Pafos.

“a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more: … a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.”
